I enjoy training with Louis. He is very pleasant and knows his stuff. He has also been able to make considerable progress with my posture and it has become almost second nature now for me to have shoulders back-head up-abs in.
Within 4 months I have dropped two sizes in clothing, my cardio fitness has moved from below average to above average and my core strength has significantly increased. Amanda, my trainer, has the ability to break down the exercises in a manner that helps me understand and correct my posture, breathing, perform the exercises and have fun all at the same time! Thank you Amanda. I find I have become more resistant to illnesses, calmer, more focused at work and stronger in daily tasks since joining Custom Conditioning.
Within 4 months I have dropped two sizes in clothing, my cardio fitness has moved from below average to above average and my core strength has significantly increased.
In eight months, I have dropped the extra 10 pounds and have improved the strength in my core, legs and arms. Amanda knows how to push me to get the best results, never compromising safety or my ability to do certain exercises. I have back troubles and often Amanda will discuss my program and my health issues with other trainers and tailor my program so I can progress without causing more injuries to my back.
I enjoy working with a personal trainer and the benefits of one-on-one training are amazing. It’s worth the time and money if you want to feel and look better. Custom conditioning offers a unique and individualized program for anyone who wants to change and improve their physical ability and well being. Take it from me, you’re worth it!
I became aware of Custom Conditioning in December 2009 when they had their Open House which I attended. I knew the personal trainers beforehand as they worked at the gym I was a member of but this gym closed in September 2009. I had hoped they would be opening a gym of their own with a different slant on personal training. And I also knew that one day I would join and participate in what they had to offer. However, I didn't think I would join in July 2010 as it was right smack dab in the middle of golf season. As I am a member of a private club, I golf most every day and assumed the burden on my time would be such that I wouldn't be able to afford the time to play golf and have a meaningful workout routine. Well I couldn't have been proven more wrong. My initial goal was to improve my flexibility as I am so right handed that my body doesn't turn equally both left and right. This has caused me problems in the past requiring physiotherapy. So with flexibility in mind I signed up for core conditioning, strength and aerobic conditioning. I have "found" the hour on days I train so it's not such a big deal. I play golf in the morning (I'm an Early Bird) and train in the afternoons. It works for me.
I have trained with Paul Scully in the past at the other gym and now work with Louis Larouche. Both I find, push you to your limits and let me tell you, you'd be surprised just how far those limits can be. The best part of being a member of Custom Conditioning, aside from the friendly atmosphere, is the boutique-like quality they can offer. This is no cookie cutter gym where you have to conform to their regiments and routines. The trainers have the knowledge and resources to provide custom-made programs to suit your needs. Strength training, core conditioning, flexibility routines and other programs, from helping youths pick up where our school system has failed, to providing seniors with the ability to work out in an uncrowded place. All in an environment that promotes personalized service.
For me I have seen the change in body size (more muscle, less fat), more flexibility and better overall conditioning. Since I still continue playing golf (I am writing this November 8, 2010) as well as hockey three times a week, I can verify the results. So, a whole-hearted endorsement of Custom Conditioning!
I have been a member of several fitness clubs. I experimented with different fitness activities, such as yoga, spinning, squash, tennis and personal training as well. I always enjoyed spending time there. While working out I developed both back and knee pain. I had to stop training for a period of time. The time away from the gym affected my motivation and eventually I began losing my interest in going to my gym.
I decided to go to a join a gym close to my home named Goodlife Fitness. I was skeptical about personal training based on past experiences. So I participated in classes such as spinning and yoga and felt pretty good. I realized that I wanted more than just feeling good, I wanted to be fit and trim down. So I decided to try a personal trainer again. That s when I started training with Paul. I started with 12 sessions, then another 24 sessions. After 3 months of really challenging training, fitness became an even bigger priority in my life. It has now been 2 years since Paul and I started training together and I have had great results.
The training process is not always smooth and easy. We all have our moments of low energy and motivation. I am glad that Paul understands my needs, we work as a team! Step by step I am climbing the pedestal because there is someone who believes in me, who strives to make my workouts pleasant and enjoyable and gives you courage all the time. Thank you Paul!
I tried everything, physio, saw every doctor, after 4 months I was ready for anything even surgery! The orthopaedic surgeon told me it would heal by itself, that it normally takes ……..a year ( gasp!).
It took a year.
I then decided I would strengthen my core so as to never have to go through this pain again.
This is when I met Paul Scully at Goodlife, with his training and coaching I was able to totally get rid of my back pain. With Paul’s advice and regular training back pain is a thing of the past.
Paul cares about his clients, it’s a vocation for him, he does not give up on you, he is always there to nudge you on.
I would like to tell you a little anecdote, one day I was cleaning windows with a friend & he calls me out from another room saying he has a problem with a window, it’s stuck he can’t remove it & he is not a small guy, I come along & lift the window as if it’s nothing, needless to say he was in shock & joined a gym the next day with a trainer. You don’t realize how much you build strength over time when you exercise regularly, or how much muscle mass you lose if you don’t
